Privacy

Your information, handled quietly.

The short version

The Quiet Engine is a one-person web studio in Melbourne, run by Eric. I only collect what I need to reply to you and to understand how this site is used. I never sell or rent your information, and I don’t send marketing unless you ask for it.

What I collect

When you use the contact form, I receive what you type: your name, the contact details you give me, and your message. That’s it, nothing hidden.

As you browse, I collect basic, anonymous usage data, the pages you visit, your rough location (city level), and your device and browser type, so I can see what’s working and fix what isn’t.

How I use it

Your enquiry is used to reply to you, scope your project and quote it. The usage data is used only to improve the site. I don’t build profiles on you and I don’t pass your details to advertisers.

Who else touches it

A few trusted services help run the site, each under their own privacy terms: Formspree delivers contact-form messages to my inbox; ImprovMX forwards email sent to hello@thequietengine.com.au; Google Analytics provides the anonymous usage stats; and Vercel hosts the site. I keep this list short on purpose.

Cookies

The only cookies here are for anonymous analytics. You can block or clear them in your browser at any time, and the site still works fine.

Keeping and removing your data

I keep enquiry emails for as long as we’re in contact or working together, then no longer than I need them. You can ask me at any time what I hold, to correct it, or to delete it, and I’ll do it. Just email hello@thequietengine.com.au.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date below changes with it. Questions about any of it? Email hello@thequietengine.com.au.
